Howdy!
My name is Jordan Knesek. I'm a Business Honors and Finance major (class of 2014) from La Grange, Texas. I always joke with my friends that I was brainwashed to be an Aggie before I knew I had a choice to attend other universities. From experiencing bonfire many times as a little girl sitting on my dad's shoulders to watching A&M btho OU in 2002 at Kyle Field, it's safe to say that the past 3 1/2 years spent in College Station has been a dream come true!
My hobbies and interests include the following...
Music - I grew up in a small town, so country was usually my radio station of choice. My dad plays the guitar (I'm currently trying to learn), I have played the piano since kindergarten. We both enjoy singing every now and then at home, church, and sometimes old dance halls.
Sports - As you can probably guess from my intro, I'm a huge Aggie fan. I have always loved football, and in high school was always one of the few cheerleaders who were really, really into the game! I also love volleyball, tennis, and basketball. One of my favorite things to do on a Sunday afternoon is put on a good football game and relax with friends.
News - One thing that makes me unique is how much fun I have following the news. I think I began to be interested in current events during middle school, and since that point, whenever the tv is on at our house, it's probably on a news channel. This past summer, I interned with Fox News Channel in New York. This was my dream job, and I absolutely loved every minute of it!
Shopping - Living in New York didn't help this hobby/interest, and my dad can vouch for it! I love keeping up with new trends and finding great new stores!
I hope to learn more about all things real estate. My dad works in real estate, so it has always been something talked about at the dinner table. I kind of just grew up hearing the lingo. I've always lived in a small town, but we moved out to the country when I was in 7th grade. I hope that this class helps me understand the industry and its trends.
My short-term career goal is to work in news/politics/government. As a finance major, there are a lot of ways to get involved in this area. Long-term career goals are harder for me to identify at this point in life. What I can say is that I hope I'll be in a leadership role, influencing others in a positive way. I hope that I'll be able to travel and maybe even live in different parts of the world. Only time will tell!
The most unique thing about me is that my younger sister was born on my 3rd birthday. It's pretty special, and I know we will cherish sharing that day forever!
I have not made an official bucket list, but I hope to travel to all of the continents one day. I would love to work in children's ministry at whatever church I attend after college. I want to go to at least one Aggie football game a year after graduation. I also want to go to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York!
My favorite sites include
foxnews.com, where I check up on what's going on in the world through the eyes of my favorite news channel! I also read
businessinsider.com to keep up with current events! When I feel like shopping, I head to
katespade.com or
cwonder.com. Every once in awhile, I'll catch up on Gossip Girl or Parks and Rec on
netflix.com.
Hopefully this helps you get to know me a little better! All in all, I'm a pretty easy going girl. I love to laugh and make too many cheesy jokes (is that possible?!) I love adventure, but I also value the simplicity and comfort of home. I can't wait to see what life has in store, but for now, I'm just enjoying my final semester at the best university in the world, Texas A&M.
